Fans are petitioning to save and continue Westworld Season 5 after HBO’s surprising cancellation. With only a few signs left to have the series’ final season picked up, will any network or streaming services hear their cry?

HBO canceled the dystopian sci-fi series in a surprising move, meaning it would no longer have a fifth season. As Westworld Season 5 will serve as the show’s season finale, won’t the viewers have a chance to see the show’s proper ending?

Fans’ Petition for Westworld Season 5

The show’s co-creator, Jonathan Nolan, announced Westworld Season 5 would be the series’ last, as it had always been the plan.

However, as of October, HBO hadn’t confirmed a new season—two months after the fourth season ended.

Later, the network confirmed its cancellation after the talks for a comeback. Hence, a final season would never happen.

So, fans started a petition to renew the series for the last and final season on Change.org, though it already started three months ago.

As of this writing, the petition has already garnered almost 4,700 signatures out of its 5,000 target.

A Chance for Westworld Season 5 to Be Ordered

Fans have saved several of their favorite shows, like Joss Whedon’s Firefly, which was resurrected into a movie, Serenity, in 2005 after its cancellation in 2011.

They also campaigned on Twitter to continue Brooklyn Nine-Nine after Fox canceled it in 2018, and NBC picked it up quickly in less than 24 hours.

The same situation happened to Lucifer, picked up by Netflix a month after its cancellation.

Sure, the cast and crew love their series, Westworld, but it’s nothing compared to its fanbase’s dedication.

After the epic fourth season finale, viewers are desperate to know how things will end in Westworld Season 5, especially since its creators already have plans for the final season.
