Though Thanos only recently took center stage with Avengers: Infinity War, fans remember that he actually made his first appearance in 2012's first Avengers movie. The role was originally played by Damion Poitier, and here's a look at him in the practical make-up.
It's actually interesting how much of it looks like the final Thanos we got in Infinity War, and I find myself wondering why they didn't decide to just keep him practical because it looks so great. I realized that they probably wanted to keep Thanos more menacing with his size, and it wouldn't make sense for him to stand toe-to-toe with the Hulk if he wasn't as large.
If anything, I was still glad about how the character came out in the last movie. With the way mo-cap has evolved, Thanos looked absolutely amazing in Infinity War. Brolin gives such a great performance, and I found myself hanging on to every single line he delivered in the movie. We know that Thanos will eventually be beaten by the Avengers in the fourth film, but I'm hoping he finds a more fitting end as compared to Earth's Mightiest Heroes just punching him into submission.
We still have no idea about the main plot of Avengers 4, but hopefully, we'll get a reveal from Marvel soon. With the film set to come out early next year, it would make sense for them to at least give us a teaser before the year ends. Heck, I would be happy if we just got an official title.
