Two of the most powerful legendary Magic: The Gathering creatures for the Commander format released in recent years are getting the foil Judge promo treatment in 2021.
Today, Senior Magic Designer Gavin Verhey has taken it to Twitter to reveal the first two foil 2021 Judge promos: Gitrog Monster and Nicol Bolas, The Ravager. The new art for Gitrog Monster was illustrated by Nils Hamm; and the front and back side of the new version of Nicol Bolas, The Ravager are illustrated by Lie Setiawan, but the back side hasn't been revealed yet.
Both Gitrog Monster and Nicol Bolas, The Raver saw a fair amount of play in Standard back when they were legal in that Constructed format. Gitrog was originally printed for 2016's Shadows Over Innistrad, and Nicol Bolas, The Ravager was released in the Core Set 2019 set. I'm sure many Commander players would love to get the new foil Judge promo versions of these cards. Both cards will surely fetch a higher price than their original versions.
