10 Funniest Moments in Peacemaker Episodes 1 to 3

After The Suicide Squad, many fans have been wondering if the Peacemaker follow-up spin-off is going to be worthy of the spectacular movie. Luckily James Gunn and John Cena did not disappoint. One would think that it would be very hard to like a guy who is a killer, a sexist, and borderline racist, but that is the power of John Cena for you. You may never see him, but his presence is always felt.

Peacemaker, from just the first 3 episodes, is building up to be one of the funniest shows right now. The violence is deliciously over-the-top, the conversations are full of quotable lines, and John Cena is John Cena.

Here are the 10 funniest moments in Peacemaker so far as of the 3 first episodes.

  1. Peacemaker's Conversation with the Janitor - Episode 1 A Whole New Whirled

When making a series, one must establish the tone right away, and with this scene, we immediately know this series is a comedy because this scene is hilarious. Peacemaker has just been told by his doctor that he is free to go, but he is actually a prisoner. So he gets the janitor to ask him if there are any government guards assigned to watch him around in the hospital.

The conversation quickly turns into an argument, a tone of two children fighting but with a sense of friendship, despite Peacemaker and the Janitor only knowing each other in a moment where they share weed one time.

The laughter keeps on building and building with each passing word - There is a fight about Aquaman and what he does with fish. Later when the janitor finally recognized a superhero called Peacemaker, he remembers that he is a racist superhero. Peacemaker denies this but promises to kill more white people in the future. Hey, if the ratio is suspect, the ratio is suspect.

  2. The Intro Credits - All Episodes

There are only a handful of intro credits that no one pushes the skip button on, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, and now Peacemaker just made the cut. The intro credits present the entire cast dancing an awkward stiff dance at the tune of "Do You Wanna Taste It?" By Wig Wam, all with a straight face, emotionless in fact. They could have made the entire cast look like they are enjoying themselves but making them emotionless makes it more hilarious.

The performance number is complete with elaborate lights with a set of neon and metal stairs. It does not even matter if a character is a straight-faced serious type in the series, in this intro he or she is going to dance. Even Eagly got into the action.

This must have been hell to shoot as the cast must have been laughing all the time. Whatever the case, this is an intro no one would skip.

  3. Eagly Hugs Peacemaker - Episode 1 A Whole New Whirled

Meet Eagly, Peacemaker's pet, and sidekick. He does not have a dog named Doggy, and a daughter named Daughtery, but he sure has an eagle named Eagly.

When Peacemaker went to jail, he left Eagly to the care of his father. Now that Peacemaker is back, he went to his father's house to see Eagly. Eagly is so excited to see Peacemaker, he chirps like he is a child who has just seen his father's return. Then the unexpected happened - Eagly hugged Peacemaker. Peacemaker's reaction is like he just experienced a miracle. If you have never seen an eagle hug a guy, then now might be the time to watch Peacemaker.

  4. Peacemaker Sings and Dance Wearing Only Underwear - Episode 1 A Whole New Whirled

Everybody remembers the scene with Peacemaker in his tighty whities in The Suicide Squad. Well, the second time's the charm. When Peacemaker sees a Quireboys album in the music collection of the girl he just slept with, he danced and sing seriously to the tune of "I Don't Love You Anymore" in his tighty whities once again, this time using a dildo as a microphone. apparently, Peacemaker has only two styles of fashion.

Seeing an overgrown muscled man dancing in his underwear and a dildo is always funny. Especially when there is no effort to hide his bulge. Thank James Gun for his love of needle drops and exquisite soundtrack selection for making this scene happen.

  5. Amber Keeps Flirting with Peacemaker in Front of Her Husband - Episode 2 Best Friends For Never

When Peacemaker is hiding from the police, he went into an apartment of a married couple who are obviously one fight away from having a divorce. Peacemaker waves a gun around as he commands the couple for some rope so that he can tie them up, yet Amber, the wife, keeps on flirting with him. When Evan sees that his wife keeps trying to have sex with their hostage taker, they go into a screaming match. Apparently, Peacemaker and Amber have a lot in common.

As the episode goes, it turns out Amber eventually does have sex with Peacemaker, in a threesome with Vigilante too.

  6. Peacemaker Keeps Getting Hurt When Trying to Escape an Apartment Building - Episode 2 Best Friends for Never

In an action movie, whenever the hero needs to escape an apartment building, they always jump over and over the balconies until they finally go to the bottom, all in a badass way. Here the expectation is subverted because while the action musical score is serious as in any other movie or TV show, Peacemaker keeps on hurting himself with each balcony. He is always landing badly and underestimating the height of his next jump that the landing just never goes right for him. By the time where he only has a few floors left, he is already frustrated, and even the jump for the ground, he is still unlucky.

  7. Peacemaker Cries Like a Child - Episode 2 Best Friends for Never

After a very long day, Peacemaker goes home, plays some music, and lies on his bed. Just when we thought this is some moment of quiet contemplation, Peacemaker suddenly cries. Not the manly type of crying, he cries like a screaming child.

While funny, it acts as a reveal of Peacemaker's character that is heartbreaking, not only is he a manchild, he also has insecurities that everybody hates him and all the criticism about his moral character does not just go in one ear and out other. He may try to act like some tough frat boy that speaks to everyone like they are beneath him, but deep down it hurts him that he cannot get along with anybody. The irony is, that he does have a friend in Vigilante, he just does not consider him as such.

The funny thing is, it turns out Vigilate is watching him from the window, and when Peacemaker found out, he hides his crying like he is just got caught watching porn. He then passes off his crying as face muscle exercise, to which Vigilante believes him.

  8. Vigilante Mistakes a Fleshlight for a Smiling Mouth Toy - Episode 2 Best Friends for Never

Vigilante is cleaning up Peacemaker's messy home when he sees a fleshlight and picks it up. He starts laughing and thinks it is just a smiling mouth novelty item. He even puts it close to his mouth and tries to make voices with it. Vigilante - Both an ignorant dork and a dangerous killing machine.

  9. Peacemaker Thinks There are Two Types of Babies - Episode 3 Better Goff Dead

When Peacemaker realizes he needs to kill children for the mission, he looks at the picture of the kids he might need to kill and sees that the other one is ugly. He then theorizes that the ugly one might be a butt baby. He then tells the team he is traveling with that his brother once told him that some babies are born coming out of their mother's butt and they are called butt babies. He even tells the team that he suspected he himself is a butt baby until he was 14 years old. That is both hilarious, and a sad glimpse into Peacemaker's upbringing.

  10. Vigilante is Tortured to Get Information Out of Peacemaker - Episode 3 Better Goff Dead

When the villains, who are possibly aliens or monsters, have captured both Peacemaker and Vigilante, the villains want some information out of them. Specifically, they want Peacemaker to tell them everything. But instead of torturing Peacemaker for the information, the villain keeps on torturing Vigilante so that Peacemaker would talk in the belief that while humans suffer from physical pain, seeing their loved ones in physical pain hurts them more. But... Peacemaker might not love Vigilante.

As the villain tortures Vigilante with electricity, Peacemaker just keeps on challenging the torturer to pick up the voltage with complete indifference. Vigilante is visibly in agony, but all Peacemaker does is assure Vigilante to don't worry because he will never give them any information.

The villain faces Peacemaker and tells him that if pure pain does not scare Peacemaker, perhaps losing something more permanent would make him talk, only to turn to Vigilante again to cut off his toe. Peacemaker tells him to even cut off all of Vigilante's toes. When Vigilante looks at Peacemaker, Peacemaker winks at him with a smile. Well, that's reassuring.
