William Shatner Jabs At Mark Hamill After Congratulating Star Wars Legend For Joining The Hall Of Fame

Yesterday, news came out that Mark Hamill was finally being given his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after forty years since his debut in Star Wars: A New Hope.

Fans celebrated the news. The Star Wars legend has had such a long history not just as an actor in the Star Wars franchise but as a voice actor as well. William Shatner, the icon from Star War's rival science fiction franchise, Star Trek, also took to Twitter to congratulate Hamill, albeit in a very playfully taunting manner.

"Congratulations !(star icon) BTW ask for a star on the south side of the street. I'm on the north side and don't want to devalue the neighborhood," Shatner said in his post on the social media.

Of course, Hamill didn't let that jab get away. The Star Wars legend poked fun of Shatner too, thanking "Bill" and acknowledging that his star on the Walk of Fame wouldn't be as special if it didn't have the "classic Shatner-Burn." The clincher's in the closing line though – "Live Long But Get Lost."

It's fun seeing Shatner and Hamill being playful around each other. Though the Star Wars and Star Trek fandoms have been at war for the longest time, it's nice seeing the franchise's icons throwing lines at each other that make their fans laugh. Classic Shatner, classic Hamill.

Hamill's award ceremony for his star will take place on March 8. Star Wars: The Last Jedi gets its Digital Release on March 13 and its Blu-Ray and DVD release on March 27.
