Neil Gaiman's 'A Study In Emerald' Gets Graphic Novel Adaptation


Neil Gaiman has always been a well-known author, but it seems like he has been on top of the world lately. American Gods is a critical success and now Good Omensis coming to Amazon Prime in 2019. To cap things off, Dark Horse Comics has announced the latest graphic novel adaptation of one of his stories: A Study in Emerald.

The story will be adapted by Rafael Albuquerque (Punk Rock Jesus, Batman: White Knight), Rafael Scavone (Wonder Woman 75th Anniversary) and Dave Stewart (Hellboy). It's one hell of a creative team and it looks like Gaiman's story is in good hands.

According to Paste Magazine, Dark Horse Comics has adapted a number of Gaiman's stories in graphic novel form. Some of these works include How to Talk to Girls at Parties by Gabriel Bá and Fábio Moon, Troll Bridge by Colleen Doran and Forbidden Brides of the Faceless Slaves in the Secret House of the Night of Dread Desire by Shane Oakley.

A Study in Emerald will be adapted into an 80-page hardcover graphic novel and come out on June 20, 2018, for $17.99. A Study in Emerald features a brilliant (unnamed) detective and his faithful partner as they attempt to solve a horrific murder of cosmic proportions. The complex investigation takes the Baker Street investigators from the murderous slums of Whitechapel all the way to the Queen's Palace as Gaiman weaves together distinctly British intrigue with trademark Lovecraftian flourishes.
