Wonder Woman Sequel Confirmed

There's still a good three weeks until we're plunged into the next DC Comics film. And probably like a lot other fans, I'm still on the side of the fence that's ready to jump ship, but still with one foot ready to get caught in the promise of Wonder Woman.

We've been seeing quite a number of trailers, with the final trailer just giving us that final push towards hope. And it seems that the fans' reactions have given Warner Bros. and DC Comics the hope that they needed.

Before, Geoff Johns couldn't even confirm if there will be a follow-up movie to Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman. Now, no other than Zack Snyder himself confirmed that there will be a sequel.

During a Wonder Woman viewing in Shanghai (via Arthur Wong), Snyder had apparently confirmed that there will be a sequel. However, since it's probably still in the early days of planning, no other details have been teased as of yet.

Now this teaser begs a lot of questions. Does this mean that all of the solo films in the DCEU will see a sequel or even a threequel in the same vein as the MCU? If DC is also looking to create a shared universe where each film will build up towards something bigger, I'm interested to know if the decision was based on the reaction to Wonder Woman or if it's a long-term plan that wants to see the DCEU on the big screen.

Guess we'll have to wait and find out—but here's to hoping that Wonder Woman will deliver DC's glory when it hits theaters on June 2.

Synopsis:

Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that's raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.
