Suicide Squad Concept Art Sketches Show Consistent Joker, Harley & Deadshot

Harley Quinn became a favorite costume last Halloween 2016, if only because Margot Robbie rocked the Daddy's Little Monster jacket, tank, and fishnet outfit in Suicide Squad.

What's interesting to see is that a lot of the later concept art for the movie has revolved around that costume and feel for Suicide Squad. A new batch of concept art has been released by Andrew Hunt (via Comicbook.com), and it shows a few mood shots for Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and Joker.

Deadshot's look is pretty much consistent, from the look down to the actual mood of the character being more serious than ha-ha funny. Harley's concept studies varies just a little in terms of the details, like her mallet, her pigtails' final look, and perhaps the fact that she's seeing good and evil personified—as seen in the mock of an angel-devil fight in her head, probably.

There's a different take on Joker's costume. We see him in two sketches where he's just sporting a tie, pants, and a glove. There's something about the sketch that makes him a little more menacing. Maybe it's in the shiny quality in the sketch with the maniacal laugh, one that immediately reminds me of Leatherface at first glance.

This new batch rings more of the design that we saw in the actual movie. Compared to an earlier batch of concept art, which had more variety of looks, as well as more characters included in the design, this new one from Hunt gives us a glimpse of how director David Ayers already knew how he wanted the look and feel of the movie early on in the game.

Suicide Squad is already out on Digital and Blu-ray. The movie is up for a nomination in the 89th Annual Academy Awards for Makeup and Hairstyling.
