Keeping the hype for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 alive, EA and DICE have started trickling out some new information related to the backstory of the game.
Since the sequel is set to tell an untold story, so to speak, by focusing on the Empire, fans will be introduced to a different set of heroes for the game, starting with the Inferno Squad. The official Star Wars: Battlefront 2 website has released a new page, this time campaigning for players to believe in the empire and realize the importance of the Death Star's destruction as the beginning of the squad's vengeance.
The page touches on the untold soldier's story, focusing on what the Inferno Squad is to the Empire. It is actually a spec-ops team that has a background as starfighter pilots and elite commandos who know where to strike hard without being seen. And they will be the opening act for Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
"Inferno Squad crisscrosses the galaxy aboard the Imperial Raider Corvus, traveling to where their highly-refined skills are most needed. Through the story of Star Wars: Battlefront II, their exploits will bring them face to face with some of the New Republic's most famous heroes… and also with some of the dark side's most sinister agents."
The bigger conflict that the Inferno Squad--and you as the player--will handle is to stick with their special orders in light of the struggling dark force. What's more, the Inferno Squad still believes in the Empire--so that means you still should, too, which is an interesting stance for when you join their ranks in the game.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will be out on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One Nov. 17.
