New Bulma Voice Actress For Dragon Ball Super Confirmed

Last November, Dragon Ball fans were devastated when Hiromi Tsuru, the Japanese voice for Bulma, passed away at 57. With only a few episodes left before Dragon Ball Super concludes this March, it looks like Bulma will return with a new voice actress and earlier today, the official Dragon Ball SuperTwitter page announced the news, and now, another recent confirmation revealed when exactly Aya Hisakawa will be taking over.

According to Todd Blankenship on Twitter, Bulma is still voiced by the late Hiromi Tsuru in Episode 128 (prerecorded dialogue) but after that, the character will be voiced by Aya Hisakawa, whos' voiced dozens of anime characters including shows like Sailor Moon, Claymore, and Gintama.

Hisakawa made her debut as Bulma's voice in a commercial that aired on Amazon. In the commercial, Vegeta is seen looking for new enemies to fight, and Bulma points to their dirty bathtub. Vegeta tried to fix the problem with a ki blast but that didn't work, so Bulma offers the advertised cleaning product. Japanese fans were quick to notice that Bulma's voice changed during that ad.

Dragon Ball Super is set to air on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami still airs the English dub of Dragon Ball Super on Adult Swim Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. It's also available to stream on FunimationNOW and Amazon.
