Just last year, HBO had partnered with Vintage Wine Estates to create a line of wines for Game of Thrones. This isn't surprising considering the amount of spirits ingested since the show debuted in 2011.
So it's not surprising that extended franchises beyond the usual array of toys and figures will sprout for the award-winning series. This time, the franchise has extended into the cosmetics department, specifically for those who would want to look like the strong women of the series.
Storybook Cosmetics has posted (via US Magazine) on its Instagram a teaser look at their Game of Thrones-themed line. Seen in the image above, the hues include very solid shades of warm and cool—perhaps to span the look from Dany's warm Mother of Dragons look to Sansa Stark's regal Northern warrior transformation.
"Another possible collection for 2017! Here is hoping HBO sells us the licensing! If only half of these deals go through we are gonna have some AMAZING collabs this year!"
But more interesting would be the designs of the packaging. The eyeshadows are encased in what looks like a book of The Game of Thrones with ornate borders. A small sword is tipped with the brush, yet another interesting use of GoT elements.
There's also a compact for what could be the foundation, which, when closed, transforms into an interesting replica of the iron throne. Completing the lineup are some sample shades of lipstick. Though if you ask me, if would've been better if they made it in the likeness of dragon eggs.
Hopefully HBO does allow this collaboration of sorts. That way, we might be able to see some more shades and more creative use of Game of Thrones accents. I'm waiting for them to use a crown or a goblet for that matter.
Game of Thrones will be back on HBO this summer.
