Dragon Ball Super fans have been waiting for Toei Animation to announce a new release date for the highly anticipated anime movie, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. The movie's Japanese theatrical release date was pushed back last year due to the Toei Animation hack, but a new report may have revealed an updated release schedule for the new Dragon Ball Super movie.

The update comes from Sheuisha itself, as the publisher of the Dragon Ball Super manga series by creator Akira Toriyama and artist Toyotarou updated its release calendar, which shared the release date for the novelization of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Previously, the book was given a release date alongside the movie, but Shueisha updated it to TBD following the leak.

As you can see in the tweet below, the publisher has set a release date for the novel: June 30, 2022. While Toei hasn't announced an official release date for the movie, it's likely that it will be released before the book.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie was originally set to release on April 22 before its book dropped three days later. If the gap between their release date remains the same, it's likely that the movie will arrive in Japanese theaters during the week of June 22, but as of now, the film doesn't have an official updated release date yet.

The movie was slated to release in North American theaters this summer, but there's still no word on whether or not the hack affected its release schedule. Toei has also yet to announce the theatrical release dates for other regions.
