Former Doctor Who Star Matt Smith Excited about Riding Dragons in Game of Thrones Prequel

In case you missed it, Matt Smith has finally been confirmed to join the cast of House of the Dragon where he will play Daemon Targaryen. It's an exciting new project for the former Doctor Who star but what exactly is he looking forward to in the Game of Thrones prequel series? Smith has just admitted that he is already excited about riding dragons in the HBO show.

Smith recently took part in a Doctor Who Q&A with GalaxyCon which was also attended by his former co-stars Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, and Jenna Coleman. At one point, the Morbius star was asked about House of the Dragon and although Smith couldn't say much about the series, he did admit to one thing.

"Without saying too much...I'm looking forward to riding a few dragons...if I get to. I mean, I don't know. Who knows?" Smith said.

We wouldn't be surprised if Smith gets a dragon of his own in the Game of Thrones prequel. After all, the character he's playing is the younger brother of King Viserys Targaryen, who will be portrayed by Paddy Considine. Daemon is believed to be the most experienced warrior of his time and yes, he had a dragon named Caraxes. In the books, Daemon also declared himself the King of the Stepstones and the Narrow Sea.

Are you excited about House of the Dragon? Do you think the Game of Thrones prequel will be even better than the original series? Sound off in the comments below.
