Upon arriving at Hinata's home, Takemichi was taken by surprise because of Hinata's mother who asked if he is her child's boyfriend. Hinata, shy, and tells her mom to stop. They proceeded to Hinata's room where they begin to study for finals. Though uninterested in studying, Takemichi goes on as such would mean he could stay with Hinata.
In the middle of their study, Hinata thanks Takemichi for what he did to her brother when he saved him from some delinquents. Hinata also revealed more about her family and how his father is always away due to work and how he is always busy. Although Naoto doesn't like his father, Naoto wanted to become just like him, a police officer.
Indeed, in the future, Takemichi realizes that Naoto really becomes a police officer, the same future where Hinata dies at the hands of the Tokyo Manji Gang. Takemichi blurted that Naoto was really a police officer and after realizing that Hinata may be confused, he said immediately that he dreamed of that once.
Hinata noticed the change in Takemichi as he used to hang out with various cold-hearted punks before and that now, he seems to talk and act more mature. They headed to the rooftop where they witness a firework show, one which is nice and never happened in the part. He whispered that he couldn't stay there with Hinata but she couldn't hear it. Takemichi is left with his own thoughts.
