Iron Man is considerably one of the most notable and honorable Avenger to ever step foot in the MCU given his tenure as one of the main Avengers and his heartbreaking sacrifice to defeat Thanos in the Avengers: Endgame.

The aftermath of his death played a huge part in the arc of Spider-Man in the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home and as confirmed by War Machine star Don Cheadle, his death will also affect the upcoming series of Armor Wars.

Tony's death will surely play a part on every member of the Avengers and his loss as one of the senior members of the team and his leadership will surely be large shoes to fill in.

Given the friendship of Rhodey and Stark established over the years since the start of the MCU, the death of Iron Man will surely have an impact on his life after the heroic sacrifice of the person he considers as his best friend.

The friendship they have built throughout the MCU has proved to be valued by both of them especially when Tony had a mini-heart attack when Rhodey fell out of the sky when he was accidentally hit while on air. It left Rhodes paralyzed from the waist down and it was Tony who made it possible for him to walk again.

Armor Wars will revolve around the progress of Rhodey's War Machine and his progress now that he is given the chance to stand on his foot again. The War Machine suit has been given to Rhodes by Tony and as the technology progresses in development, there would be innovations made on the suit.

Don Cheadle expressed his excitement for the Armor Wars as Marvel finds a way to "bridge what's happening in the comic books with what's happening on screen in the MCU and how we're going to make those worlds work."

Armor Wars will be based on the comic Iron Man #225-232 by David Michelinie, Bob Layton, Mark D. Bright, and Barry Windsor-Smith. The storyline follows the Armored Avenger hunting down those who stole the designs of his armor.

Armor Wars will take on what happens when Tony's worst fear comes to life: his technology being in the wrong hands. The series has been confirmed to be released on Disney+ but has yet to have a schedule for its release date.
