YouTube Star Logan Paul Claims His Charizard Card is Now Worth 1 Million Dollars

YouTube personality Logan Paul caught the attention of a lot of people during his highly-anticipated boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and it didn't have anything to do with the exhibition bout. The controversial social media celebrity made the jaws of diehard Pokemon fans drop when came out to the ring wearing a Charizard card as his necklace. And it's not just any ordinary card as Kotaku confirmed that it's a first edition, 10-graded Charizard card which Logan acquired for $150,000 last year.

Logan proudly showed off the card as he entered the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens Florida and unsurprisingly, the entire Pokemon community was all eyes on him and his Charizard piece. To those unaware, a lot of collectors are going crazy over Pokemon trading cards and the value of some cards has increased insanely since their inception in 1996.


At the post-fight press conference, Logan shared that he considers it his lucky charm and estimated the value at around a million bucks. "It's a BGS 10 Charizard, first edition Charizard. It's one of three in the world. It is my prized possession. Ever since I got this graded at a ten, the momentum in my life has been crazy. It's my good luck charm. This is the card I walked out [with] to the Floyd Mayweather fight. This is a million-dollar card."

Pokemon trading cards have always had value in the eyes of collectors and hobbyists but the past year alone saw a renewed clamor from the community as the prices of Pokemon cards, which were already high in the first place, seem to have skyrocketed which only goes to prove that Pokemon is still a hot commodity and a worthy investment at that. Now, whether or not you believe Logan's million-dollar claim, we'll leave that one up to you.
