The Mandalorian star Gina Carano has been causing a lot of buzz on social media the last couple of months for her bold and controversial takes on certain socio-political topics and her alleged transphobic posts on Twitter. This time around, the Cara Dune actress is sounding off in the midst of the tension-filled US Presidential Elections between current President Donal Trump and his political rival Joe Biden, who's been declared as the next American President over the weekend.
In yet another controversial tweet posted days before Biden's monumental win, Carano claimed that electoral fraud actually exists and that it was taking place as the Presidential votes were being tabulated. She wrote: "We need to clean up the election process so we are not left feeling the way we do today. Put laws in place that protect us against voter fraud. Investigate every state. Film the counting. Flush out the fake votes. Require ID. Make Voter Fraud end in 2020. Fix the system."
We need to clean up the election process so we are not left feeling the way we do today.— Gina Carano ? (@ginacarano) November 5, 2020
Put laws in place that protect us against voter fraud.
Investigate every state.
Film the counting.
Flush out the fake votes.
Make Voter Fraud end in 2020.
Fix the system. ??
Her tweet, of course, was met with mixed responses from netizens, mostly negative and her opinion didn't sit well with a number of fans who are once again attacking the Star Wars actress for her claims which a lot of them think are baseless and without merit. See some of the reactions below:
wow, you continue to disappoint as a human. the fact that we are counting every vote means the system works. and voter fraud is statistically non-existent (and when it is found, it is ALWAYS GOP). all this and a transphobe, too? you are a catch, huh?— Marc Andreyko - Writer of Stuff (@marcandreyko) November 5, 2020
I am a fan of yours, but this is not a good take. Counting votes isn’t fraud. Election workers are doing their jobs and we should be grateful.— Andrew Elash (@andrewelash) November 5, 2020
There is one side of this fight that has impeded modernizing our elections, and it isn’t the side you are on. Disappointing, Gina.
Disappointing that this is where you're at in this. It isn't fraud that is the issue today.— Cai K ?️ ℂ???? ????? ???? (@estelofimladris) November 5, 2020
You are 100% wrong. I don't know where you get your info but please don't let it be Twitter. As a librarian, its really sad and dangerous how much BS is passed around. Ask your local one to show you how to decide what's real and what's fake.— Anthony Frausto (@LOUDlibrarian27) November 5, 2020
Gina, what makes you think that voter fraud is occurring?— Michael T Ford III (@MTFIII) November 5, 2020
What fraud? Which fake votes? Where? There’s processes that filters them right now which is why some people’s ballots got denied wether it wasn’t filled properly or signature was bad. How about we just go by popular vote like how everything else works— NoypiMerican (@NoypiMerican) November 5, 2020
Gina, I respect your statements, but it is not responsible to be focused on voter fraud right now when there has been 0 proof of it.— Sean Christman (@SeanChristman4) November 5, 2020
America needs to fight against the egregious voter suppression the president is openly advocating for.
Come on Gina, use your platform for better
What evidence of voter fraud? There has been no evidence of significant voter fraud throughout US history. And there's none now. Counting legitimate mail-in votes that were received on time is not fraud. Counting every legitimate vote in an election is democracy in action.— Scott Leitch (@scottleitch) November 5, 2020
WTF are you talking about? Whenever voter fraud is actually investigated, we have found it to be so small that its not impactful. The reason we're still counting is because a few states don't allow early counting of mail/absentee ballots. We pretty much do everything you listed.— Wang Fire (@Totang1980) November 6, 2020
In her latest tweet, the former MMA competitor posted a photo of a blooming flower in the middle of a hot desert, seemingly implying that she even though she's generating nuclear heat from fans once again, she remains unfazed and stands by the things she said. Check it out below:
Now, whether Gina is doing all of this on purpose to intentionally piss off fans or not, we'll never truly know. I guess everyone's entitled to their own opinion and I strongly believe that Gina has done her own research before coming up with her claims. It's just sad that she can't seem to catch a break from all the onslaught of cyberattacks she's been getting.
Meanwhile, Gina Carano will appear in the second season of The Mandalorian, now streaming on Disney+.
