The official confirmation that Loki's gender-fluidity has been made canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe was well-received by the fans of the billion-dollar franchise but despite that, it doesn't look like Marvel Studios is planning to make the God of Mischief's sexual identity the focal point of his standalone series Loki.

Aside from the subtle hints in previous episodes that he's had relationships with both sexes, it doesn't seem like the studio will go to the next level in terms of Loki's overall presentation, after all, they're teasing a heterosexual romance between him and Sylvie.

Still, Loki's "coming out party" in the MCU generated buzz all across social media and the timing couldn't have been more perfect too as it all coincided during Pride Month.

However, Marvel Studios' Executive Vice President of Film Production Victoria Alonso doesn't get the fuss behind Loki's actual gender identity. In a recent interview with Variety, Alonso admitted that she didn't see it as that huge of a deal and if anything, they were just staying true to the character's comic book roots.

Alonso explains: "I have to be honest with you, it's not a big deal... It is what it is when it suits the character. We're not going to do it because it's politically correct or incorrect. It is what it is. Don't forget, we follow our comics. We try to follow them quite to the tee. So in the comics, this is who he was."

While I don't see Marvel Studios "capitalizing" on the hype surrounding Loki's bisexuality, it'll still be interesting to see how far the studio would b willing to go in terms of integrating it into the character's current story.

Loki is now streaming on Disney+.
