Henry Cavill Reportedly Gave WB an Ultimatum Regarding Superman Return

To a lot of DC fanatics, British actor Henry Cavill can already be considered as the definitive live-action version of Superman but his true status in the DC Extended Universe has been plagued by controversy over the last couple of years. As it stands, we still have no idea whether or not he actually gets to do the Man of Steel sequel he's been lobbying for years to do especially now that WB is adamant about rebooting the character.

We don't know the extent of Henry's contract with Warner Bros. but according to reports, the star of Netflix's hit fantasy series The Witcher is still contractually obligated to do a film in the DCEU but everything is still shrouded by intrigue and mystery. Some fans are assuming that Cavill is just sitting out his contract waiting for WB to officially relieve him of his DC duties.

Now, according to tipster Daniel Richtman's latest Patreon scoop, the Enola Holmes actor gave WB an ultimatum concerning his Superman role in the franchise. Cavill, who last appeared as the Kryptonian hero in Justice League reportedly told the studio that it's "now or never" regarding his potential DCEU comeback as its Man of Steel.

Of course, take it with a huge grain of salt but considering Henry hasn't been given any follow-up DC project since (technically) 2017, it wouldn't be so shocking if the report was actually true. What's even more appalling is the fact that Cavill is still apparently tied to a WB contract yet we've yet to see him don the Superman mantle.
