I think we can all agree that the completion and release of Zack Snyder's Justice League is a monumental win not only for the people involved in creating the cut but also for the fans who tirelessly fought for the Snyder Cut to see the light of day. The buzz surrounding the project even spawned a new online campaign that calls for the "restoration" of the SnyderVerse.

Things were looking great for the director and his cast and crew during the 4-hour DCEU project's first week of screening with initial reports even claiming that the Snyder Cut ended up being beneficial to the streaming platform resulting in a 60% increase in viewership but apparently, it failed to bring in new subscribers to the service.

According to new data, despite the Snyder Cut hype, Justice League failed to contribute to increasing HBO Max's subscriber count. CNBC notes that the project was expected to deliver a massive subscriber count for the service but failed to do so. On the bright side, HBO Max continues to gain a strong following and during the first quarter of 2021, the streaming platform has attracted 2.7 million subscribers ahead of its global expansion.

Still, no matter which way you look at it, the Snyder Cut proved to be a massive success but it'll be interesting to see if this new bit of information will affect the SnyderVerse movement. I mean, after all, HBO is still looking at things from a business standpoint, and if they don't think Zack Snyder's DC film universe is profitable then the chances of the SnyderVerse actually pushing forward have just gotten slimmer. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
