Zack Snyder Reveals Why He Agreed to Work on Justice League Snyder Cut

It's no secret that the theatrical cut of Justice League that was directed by Joss Whedon was a far cry from what Zack Snyder originally intended for the film. For some fans, this should be reason enough for Snyder to decide to return and work on his own director's cut of the DC Extended Universe. However, the filmmaker has just revealed that there is so much more to this decision.

Snyder recently spoke to Beyond the Trailer where he offered several updates on his upcoming projects including the Justice League Snyder Cut. Interestingly, the Army of the Dead director pointed out that he had pitched his plans to the cast when they were still working on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

"I pitch them the movie, right? Like I go, this is, you're gonna be this, this is where it's going, right? Justice League. Well, and starting, and when I talk about Jason or Ezra, you know, it's starting, you know, it's like way back to BVS years ago," Snyder said. "Same with Amy... it was about, you know, this, that we were going somewhere you know?"

When he was finally offered the chance to do the Snyder Cut, Snyder admitted that he was actually surprised.

"I feel like when I had, when this opportunity arrived and came to me, you know, I got this call and you know, um, Toby Emmerich called me to say 'Hey, is this thing you'd be interested in doing' and it was shocking frankly, I wasn't ready but I thought about it, one of the big things that got me to say 'all right' to this huge job, it's crazy, but it was that commitment I made to those actors about, like, let's finish this. Let me put it back. Let me honor what we talked about creating you know?" Snyder said.

It's amazing to know that one of the main reasons that Snyder agreed to work on Justice League was because he wanted to make sure the cast got the roles they wanted. With that in mind, we can't wait to see the Snyder Cut.

The Justice League Snyder Cut has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
