It's a story that doesn't bear repeating though we're going to do it anyway; Justice League was a mess. Zack Snyder wasn't allowed to finish his project due to a family tragedy and Joss Whedon was hired to basically change a lot of the movie so that it would be more "appealing" to mainstream audiences. Even as someone who doesn't like Batman V Superman, I'm pretty sure Snyder's version of Justice League would have been better than the final product we saw in theaters.
Zack Snyder has revealed even more changes made, which makes Joss Whedon look pretty bad. It turns out that Whedon basically combined the Batcave with an abandoned Wayne Aerospace hanger. Turns out that Alfred was supposed to work on the Flying Fox at the aforementioned Aerospace hanger and pilot it but that obviously didn't happen in the final product, which led to a CGI Alfred saying bye to the Justice League.
The change was likely done due to Warner Bros shortening the time to two hours but it was still a bad call. Still, we can't completely blame Whedon for this since it was Warner Bros who wanted to change the movie completely; Whedon was just hired to do their bidding. We're glad that the DCEU is in a much better place now but man, Justice League was a mess.
Don't watch Justice League, even if it's available on Blu-Ray or the DC Universe streaming service. #releasethesnydercut
