Fans have been pitting Zack Snyder and James Gunn against each other, especially after the former Marvel director was appointed co-CEO of the newly-established DC Studios which will oversee future film and television projects for the rebooted franchise.
While the two have already squashed rumors surrounding their alleged "beef", it doesn't seem like Snyder is willing to do business with Gunn and helm a DCU flick, and he has a good reason for it.

Zack Snyder Claims He Has 'Superhero Fatigue'; Is in No Hurry to Return to Comic Book Movies
Speaking with The Atlantic, the DCEU patriarch and director of Netflix's space epic Rebel Moon has sounded off on the possibility of doing another superhero flick. According to him, he's also caught the "superhero fatigue", saying that comic book films can no longer be told as "one-off" stories, especially in today's landscape.
He explains: "I have the same fatigue. No one thinks they’re going to a one-off superhero movie."
Snyder also clarified that he's not interested in directing a film for James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe, at least not anytime soon. "I’m not knocking on James Gunn’s door, going, like, ‘Bro, shoot me one of those sweet movies," he added.

Despite his remarks, the director did say in a previous interview that he'd be down to continue his version of the DC Universe at Netflix given the chance. Of course, that seems like nothing more than a pipe dream for now as WB Discovery wouldn't allow that to happen.
As for the possibility of him returning to the DCU, you can never say never but Snyder is still busy with other projects so fans may have to wait a little longer to see that happen.
Meanwhile, Rebel Moon is now streaming on Netflix.
