Ever since Adam Warlock was teased in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, all sorts of rumors are going around regarding the actor that best fits the role.

Although James Gunn is going to be working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it might take a while to start production with Gunn directing the DC Extended Universe's Suicide Squad sequel which comes out on August 6, 2021.

The previous casting rumors for Warlock focused on 2 actors, it was speculated to be either X-Men: First Class star Lucas Till or Zac Efron who is probably known as Troy in High School Musical.
Rumors started way back in May and has since been persistent in the past months. It seems that fans prefer the latter since a fan art emerged showing Zac Efron imagined as Warlock in a GOTG poster. See photo below:

Redditor Spideyvegas shared his take on a Guardians of the Galaxy 3 poster. It was really cool and it's a good representation for Warlock in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of course, Zac Efron wasn't the focal point since Quill (Chris Pratt) is the captain. But the actor can be seen with Warlock's distinct blonde hair and is placed on the far right of the poster just beside Mantis.

Adam Warlock's character was expected to show up in either Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: Endgame, however, it looks like we're still well away from seeing his character. The production for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 could start in 2020 at the earliest, Comic Book reports. If this is confirmed, casting for Warlock could still be a year away.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 did not make it into Marvel's Phase 4. In the meantime, fans can look forward to future projects in the works such as The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in Fall of 2020, Black Widow on May 1, 2020, The Eternals on November 6, 2020, and so much more!
