Here’s a Yellowstone Season 5 casting update to remind you there’s still an upcoming season amid this Dutton drought. Kai Caster, Lainey Wilson, Lilli Kay, and Dawn Olivieri have hopped on the horse for Paramount’s hit family drama.
Yellowstone Season 5 cast additions
According to the network, Caster, who starred in American Horror Story in 2018, will play Rowdy, a young cowboy.
Wilson, whose song Things a Man Oughta Know earned her Song of the Year at the ACM Awards, will play a musician named Abby. We already know she can sing.
Kay, who previously starred alongside Bryan Cranston in Showtime's Your Honor, will play Clara Brewer, one of the Duttons' new assistants. Sarah Atwood, a confident corporate shark and newcomer to Montana, will be played by Olivieri, who is best known for her role as Lydia on NBC's Heroes and Showtime's House of Lies.
In addition to the new cast members, Paramount Network has revealed that Josh Lucas, who plays young John Dutton, and Jacki Weaver, who plays Caroline Warner, will return for Yellowstone Season 5.
More flashbacks in Yellowstone Season 5
Yellowstone's flashback aspect is one of its great suits, bringing depth to the characters that fans get to know and love (or detest) in their current incarnation. Lucas has shown to be an excellent young Kevin Costner/John Dutton, making his return for Yellowstone Season 5 all the more welcome.

With Sheridan planning a slew of spinoff prequels for the Dutton tale, it'd be a shame if Lucas didn't get his own prequel series set in the flashback era, considering he's one of the show's most interesting characters.
Yellowstone Season 5 began production on May 16 and will consist of 14 episodes split into two parts.
Get ready for more Montana drama when the first batch of Yellowstone episodes premiere on Nov. 13 at 8 p.m. ET on Paramount Network.
