A new interesting, animated content is coming to Netflix. Yakitori Soldiers of Misfortune, based on the novel Yakitori by Carlo Zen, is dropping on the streaming giant today.
Directed by Hideki Anbo and animated by ARECT, which was behind the Bright prequel spinoff Bright: Samurai Soul, Yakitori Soldiers of Misfortune is another must-see. So, what can fans expect from it?
Yakitori Soldiers of Misfortune Official Synopsis
Netflix released the official synopsis of its new anime offering.
“A young man named Akira volunteers to join a planetary orbital infantry force called ‘Yakitori’ in hopes of changing his life. What does fate have in store for him?” it reads via Leisure Byte.
The series follows Akira Ihotsu. Despite being young, he bravely rebels against the oppressive society on a future Earth, ruled and controlled by Shoren, the Pan-Star System Trade Federation.

One day, Pupkin, a cook for Shoren, scouted Akira. He volunteers to join the planetary orbital infantry force called Yakitori to escape from the closed Japanese society.
Yakitori Soldiers of Misfortune is said to be a “brutal” show with missions featuring a shocking death rate of 70 percent.
Akira will stand against his pre-determined future, along with misfits from several other nations, as he struggles to survive against the aliens of Mars.

In addition, Sake Fujita from Attack on Titan joins as Mimi Hatsume; Kenjirou Tsuda from Jujutsu Kaisen as Vasya Pupkin; Akari Kitou from Demon Slayer as Schultz Amalaya; Kengo Kawanishi from Demon Slayer as Erland Martonen; Wataru Takagi from One Piece as Rimel; and Shunsuke Takeuchi from Lupin Zero as Tyrone Baxter.
