The new trailer for X-Men: Dark Phoenix is finally here and it looks like Jean Grey is truly the most dangerous creature in existence. The new teaser reveals just how powerful the young mutant could be and how she could destroy anyone who stands in her way.
The trailer opens at a poignant note as Jean (Sophie Turner) sits crying in the rain with an ominous question: "Why did you make me do that?" It is revealed that something had happened to her ally ("She was my friend") and it's bad enough to turn the other X-Men against Jean. Unfortunately, it looks like it's time to say goodbye to Mystique.
The odds are definitely high this time as the mutants discover they would need to fight against their own friend. However, it looks like none of them are powerful enough to defeat Jean. Even Magneto struggles and Professor X doesn't know what to do.
We finally get more glimpses at the mysterious character played by Jessica Chastain. However, her identity is still unknown. The truth could finally be revealed this June.
The synopsis for Dark Phoenix reads as follows:
"In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite -- not only to save Jean's soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy."
X-Men: Dark Phoenix hits theaters on June 7.
