After almost 20 years of mutant movies, Dark Phoenix will be the first film to give us a look at the mutant haven of Genosha. Talking to Empire, director Simon Kinberg explains:

"Genosha is something that I've always been fascinated by… It's sort of Oz for mutants. As a Jew, its parallels to Israel and the notion of the promised land intrigued me even as a kid. I was looking in previous X-Men movies for a way to incorporate it. It was something I thought about for Apocalypse, but then went in a very different direction."

While in the comics Genosha was a fictional island country, it looks like the movie will try to simplify it, and make it a remote location which Magneto turns into a haven for mutants. The guess is Jean will be possessed by the Phoenix Force, and she will run off to Genosha to try and get Magneto to help her control her powers, as Prof. X was the reason why everything got worse in the first place.

The way it looks, there hasn't been much hype for the film when you look online, but then again, mainstream audiences don't really care about reshoots or drama behind the scenes. When it comes to Dark Phoenix, we'll just have to wait and see what happens when it finally hits theaters.

Catch X-Men: Dark Phoenix when it comes out June 6.
