X-Men '97 Episode 4 Shows Jubilee and Sunspot Stuck in Retro Arcade World
The episode started on the morning of Jubilee's 18th birthday where the members of the X-Men were having breakfast while planning their move in case Mister Sinister makes his return.
Jubilee entered the dining room and expressed her wish to celebrate her birthday by spending time in the arcade. However, Magneto forbade her.
As Jubilee was ranting her frustration to Sunspot in her room, they discovered a Motendo console and they were suddenly transported into a retro arcade world by Mojo.
Jubilee and Sunspot have to fight their way through the game that is inspired by the real-life 1992 X-Men arcade. They were also aided by Abscissa, a digital version of an older Jubilee.
Fortunately, the three were able to defeat Mojo in the end, and Spiral sent the young mutants back to the real world.
The segment ended with a kissing scene between Jubilee and Sunspot, officially igniting their romantic relationship.
Aside from the two characters finally getting their own spotlight in the series, it also sets up their relationship and it is interesting how they will explore it in the rest of the first season.
