Willow Series Casts Doom: Annihilation Star Amer Chadha-Patel as Mysterious Male Lead

The highly anticipated Willow series has found its lead star. Doom: Annihilation star Amer Chadha-Patel has just been cast as the male lead in the upcoming Disney+ show from Lucasfilm.

Deadline confirms that Chadha-Patel will be joining the cast of the Willow series. Other cast members include Ellie Bamber, Ruby Cruz, Tony Revolori, and Erin Kellyman. Interestingly, the identity of Chadha-Patel's character was not revealed although it was reported that he will play the male lead.

This is great news considering that fans have been worried that the Willow series is no longer happening or that the show would be delayed indefinitely. Nevertheless, it looks like Disney and Lucasfilm are determined to push forward with the project.

Chadha-Patel is best known for his work on Beecham House and Year of the Rabbit. He also played a small role as a palace guard in Aladdin. Chadha-Patel's most recent project was the HBO series The Third Day, which also starred Jude Law, Paddy Considine, and Katherine Waterston.

The Willow series will serve as a sequel to the 1988 fantasy flick. Although it has not yet been confirmed whether Val Kilmer and Joan Whaley-Kilmer will return in the show, Lucasfim has already announced that Warwick Davis will reprise his role as the titular hero.

For now, the Willow series is still in development with Jonathan Kasdan and Wendy Mericle serving as showrunners. Ron Howard, who directed the original movie, is set to produce alongside Bob Dolman. It has previously been confirmed that Jonathan Entwistle will direct the episodes.

The Willow series has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
