Will Invincible Season 5 Happen?
Yes, fans will witness the continuation of the Viltrumite War, as Invincible was already renewed for Season 5 ahead of Season 4’s release in July 2025.
In fact, the new season is already in production, with comic book creator Robert Kirkman telling Collider that the team is already “getting final animation back and doing retakes.”
Showrunner Simon Racioppa added, “End of production, start of post. I guess we can say that. But that takes a long time.”
With plenty of work still ahead, Kirkman also joked, “We’re not stopping until everyone on this production is burnt out.”
Despite the workload, he revealed they are already “pretty far into” Invincible Season 5, putting it in strong shape.
What to Expect From Invincible Season 5?
After Thragg survives, Invincible Season 5 will continue exploring the fallout of the Viltrumite War.
Thragg remains a major threat, while the remaining Viltrumites are forced into hiding among humanity as they secretly rebuild their numbers.
Meanwhile, Mark is still reeling from the trauma of recent events, including taking an innocent life and the ongoing fear of Thragg targeting his loved ones.
Allen the Alien may also turn into a potential enemy after being exposed to a version of the Scourge virus left to him by Thaedus, which–based on the comics–leads to a confrontation with Mark and Nolan that the new season could explore.
With official plot details still under wraps, Racioppa has teased that “each season gets bigger.”

“But I can't confirm anything. Maybe it will be April. Maybe May. Maybe January. I don't know,” he teased. “Who knows? We'll see. But I would say that the goal is to come back in this general timeframe.”
Based on Kirkman’s comments, there’s a strong indication that Invincible Season 5 could arrive in early 2027.
