Based on the shōnen manga series of the same name, and the Japanese light novels by Yukiya Murasaki illustrated by Takahiro Tsurusaki, How NOT to Summon A Demon Lord finally made its way to the anime scene. Currently, the light novels are compiled in 13 volumes, while the manga series has 13 as well.
The first season was a success, to say the least. It was animated by Studio Ajia-Do and it aired in 2018's Summer Anime Season with 12 episodes. It secured a second season titled How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord Ω (Omega) by Tezuka Productions but it only has a 10-episode run picking up where season one left. This brings us to the question of the possibility of a third season.
Will There Be a Season 3 of How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord?
Realistically speaking, it is hard to produce an animated series. It took three years for How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord to get a second series. It is safe to say that should there be a Season 3, it would arrive at, the earliest, 2023.
To date, there is still no confirmation as to whether there would be a third season of How NOT to Summon A Demon Lord but it sure is not impossible for the series to secure another run.
To start, the ratings of both season one and season two are up the pedestal. It has been a consistent chart-topper and many anime critics are recommending the series as not only it is a fun one to watch but it is also a refreshing anime considering the story it has plus the humor and the action it brings in every episode.
Another is that there is no scarcity in the material. Season 2 ends with volume six of the light novel series. Currently, with 13 volumes, all in all, it still has room for more, and another season could explore other volumes that are yet to be tapped into the screens.
While there is still no news as to season 3 of How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord, it is safe to say that it has a high chance of securing it. Maybe not now but give them time, maybe after a few months or years, there would be.
