- Quick Answer: Kingpin will not die in Season 2; the showrunner and Charlie Cox confirmed his story continues into the already renewed third season.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is only just getting started, but there are already claims that Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, may finally see his reign come to an end by the finale.
Now serving as the mayor of New York City, Kingpin has turned the city into a chaotic, totalitarian state enforced by the Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF). But will Daredevil and his allies finally bring him down for good?
Here’s what showrunner Dario Scardapane and lead star Charlie Cox have to say.
Will Kingpin Die at the End of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?

Dario Scardapane addressed questions about Kingpin’s future in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
"Every time I say something, there are repercussions," Scardapane told The New York Times. "So, Parts One and Two of this current story, where Fisk becomes mayor and Matt leads the resistance, bring that dynamic to an inevitable point."
Despite speculation that Kingpin may die, the showrunner emphasized that Season 2 will not be “the end of Fisk’s story in any way, shape, or form.”
"There are a few comic book runs that are part of the lore, and we take bits and pieces of those, mash them up, and use them as inspiration," Scardapane continued. "It’s all part of the larger story of Matt Murdock’s struggle with being someone who has such respect for the law and yet breaks it on a regular basis."
Will Kingpin be in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3?

Daredevil: Born Again has been renewed for a third season, with production set to begin in March 2026.
So, with Dario Scardapane confirming that Season 2 will not mark the end of Kingpin, does that mean he’ll return in Season 3?
In an interview, lead star Charlie Cox hinted that Wilson Fisk will continue his reign—though things may look a little different.
"[It] feels like [the show has] shed the skin of the Mayor Fisk era [and is] a new book, a new dawn a little bit," he told Entertainment Weekly. "It's still a continuation, obviously, but it's slightly different."
Scardapane echoed this, adding that the next season will maintain the series’ “continuum” while not being as directly interconnected as the first two seasons.
"Season one and season two are Part One and Part Two. It feels that way. I think there's also a Part Three to that story, but I need to be very quiet about that. The ballad of Fisk and Murdock has, in my mind, an ebb and flow," he explained.
If Season 1 showcased Fisk’s rise to power, Season 2 will explore the consequences of each character’s actions.
“We talked earlier about how in Season 2, Fisk is fully Kingpin and Murdock is fully Daredevil, and there’s a consequence to that—and that’s where we’re heading next,” Scardapane added.
Given that Kingpin has been Daredevil’s longtime rival, their conflict is set to continue in the MCU.
