Fans were left craving for more as the fourth season of Haikyuu!! came to a conclusion last December 2020. This season, also called Haikyuu!! To The Top, follows Karasuno Volleyball Club's continued journey towards their goal of winning Nationals. We can't help but root for the beloved boys, since they consistently show us how they improve themselves both individually and as a team.

The first cour highlighted the special training of certain characters—Kageyama being invited to the All-Japan Youth training camp and Tsukishima to a prefecture-wide training camp. I'm sure all of us felt initial secondhand embarrassment from Hinata crashing Tsukki's training camp but the results were rewarding anyway. Near the end of the cour, Karasuno finally travels to Tokyo for Nationals. They experienced a couple of minor setbacks in their match with Tsubakihara Academy, but they got through it and won their first round.

The second cour shows us the fruits of Karasuno's hard work during their match with Inarizaki High School, a powerhouse from the Hyōgo prefecture. It was definitely not an easy feat for Karasuno during this match. Inarizaki was filled with strong opponents, such as the famous Miya twins, Rintarō Suna, and Aran Ojiro. Aside from that, they had a deafening cheering squad accompanied by an orchestra. It was a close call, but Karasuno emerged victorious from the battle.

The manga, written by Haruichi Furudate, ended last July 2020 with Chapter 402. The last episode of the fourth season ended at Chapter 292 which means the anime adaptation still has a lot of plot that can be covered. As of writing, there are no updates as to when season 5 will be released. Although considering how this sports anime continues to be a popular fan-favorite until now, it's well-expected that there should be one (or probably even more) seasons along the way.

Continuing through Nationals, the fifth season is most likely to cover the long-awaited Trash Can Battle between Karasuno and Nekoma. While waiting, feel free to do what most Haikyuu!! fans like to do—rewatch all the current seasons. Especially the Tokyo Training Camp arc, if you love Karasuno and Nekoma.
