The Grimm Variations is another unique twist to the fascinating and thrilling world of Grimm's fairytales, which brothers Jacob and Wilhelm collected and published many years ago.
From Cinderella to Red Riding Hood, The Grimm Variations tells a unique story from the perspective of the innocent and curious Charlotte, Jacob, and Wilhelm's younger sister.
“Do you suppose they really lived happily ever after?” That is Charlotte's question to the Grimm Brothers after they tell her one of their fairy tales.

How Many Episodes Will Netflix’s The Grimm Variations Have?
The Grimm Variations will have a total of six episodes with different directors, and they are as follows:
- Episode 1: Cinderella, directed by Yoko Kanamori (unit director in the Given movie)
- Episode 2: Little Red Riding Hood, directed by Yasuhiro Akamatsu (unit director in Saga of Tanya the Evil episodes 2 and 6).
- Episode 3: Hansel and Gretel, directed by Junichiro Hashiguchi (unit director in Inuyashiki Last Hero episode 8).
- Episode 4: The Elves and the Shoemaker, directed by Yumi Kamakura (storyboard for the Bubble movie)
- Episode 5: The Town Musicians of Bremen, directed by Masato Takeuchi (episode director in Tatami Time Machine Blues)
- Episode 6: Pied Piper of Hamelin, directed by Shintarou Nakazawa (assistant unit director in The Wind Rises)
All these episodes will premiere at once on Netflix on April 17, 2024.
In addition to the anime series, Japanese mangaka Koji Megumi will begin a manga adaptation on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket manga website on the same date.
Will Netflix’s The Grimm Variations Have More Episodes? Speculations Explored
As of writing, there is no word on whether Netflix plans to produce more episodes of The Grimm Variations, so fans must wait for more information in the coming weeks.
If The Grimm Variations is successful in terms of audience, reach, and watch hours, Netflix may produce additional episodes for the series, similar to Pokemon Concierge, which began with four episodes.
Besides, with over 200 Grimm Brothers' stories to arrange and add a modern, unique touch to, the new series has enough source material to work with. For now, nothing has been confirmed.
