Full House star John Stamos is currently in the midst of controversy due to a photo of him wearing a bald cap alongside his friend and co-star Dave Coulier.

Recently, Coulier revealed that he had been diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Stamos showed his support for his friend by posting a photo on social media that has rubbed the wrong way for some fans.

Why is John Stamos' Bald Cap Photo Getting Criticized?

In his recent Instagram post, Stamos showed his support for Coulier by sharing a photo of himself wearing a bald cap alongside his friend, who has his hair shaved.

The post was meant to be a sweet tribute to his long-time friend who is battling against cancer and showed that he is in solidarity with him.

However, some fans criticized the post as they saw Stamos' intent as shallow and suggested that he should have actually shaved his head if he really wanted to support his friend.

The post has been bombarded with negative comments from fans who were against what Stamos did while some have also defended the actor's decision and explained that wearing a bald cap is an appropriate way to support.

Nevertheless, the swarm of negativity has made enough headlines across the web and Stamos became the center of an online controversy.

Dave Coulier Defends John Stamos Over the Controversy

Coulier broke his silence and defended Stamos from the controversy by sharing a statement on another Instagram post.

He asked fans to stop the criticisms against his friend and assured them that he was being a "loving friend" when Stamos decided to wear a bald cap as his way of supporting his cancer journey.

"I’m sorry to see a bunch of negative comments as l’ve just begun my cancer journey," Coulier wrote in his statement.

"It’s our friendship (me and John) and this is how we are handling a very tough time. I’m a comedian and humor is what drives me. John knows how to cheer me up and I laughed out loud when he arrived wearing a bald cap — being a true loving friend and brother."

The actor continued, "I have heard from so many people who have been inspired enough by my words and actions to say that they are going to check in with their doctors and get mammograms, a colonoscopy or a prostate exam. I’m still going to laugh in the face of adversity."

"When I lost my sister, Sharon, my mother, Arlen, and my niece, Shannon to cancer, we tried to stay positive, and we made each other laugh through the worst of it. So, l’m choosing to spread the word about early cancer detection to help people. That’s just who I am. I wish nothing but love for all of you."
