Why Is Yuta Okkotsu Overseas in Jujutsu Kaisen?
At the end of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta was able to let go of Rika, and she finally found her peace. Yuta discovered that he is actually a descendant of Sugawara no Michizane, which is a legendary Japanese vengeful spirit, hence explaining how he was able to make Rika a curse.
Although he was not visible in most parts of the main Jujutsu Kaisen storyline, Yuta comes back on the scene after the Shibuya Incident arc.
He was tasked to come back after what Yuji did in Shibuya. Yuta’s role is to be Yuji’s executioner. What manga fans have noticed is that Yuta is now calmer and more composed than he was a year ago, when Jujutsu Kaisen 0 happened.
His skills also improved especially in terms of hand-to-hand combat and sword abilities. Rika, a vessel which became Yuta’s new cursed technique, assists him in combat, making him still as powerful as before.
This vessel acts as sentient storage for his cursed energy that he uses to keep cursed techniques, cursed energy, and cursed weapons.
What Does the Post Credit Scene in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Mean?
In the post-credit scene, Yuta is seen with Miguel, an antagonist who fought Gojo, together in Africa, happily eating together. Their small moment was cut short when Gojo appeared, wearing his famous sunglasses and colorful shirt.
Based on Gojo’s look, it can be said that the post-credit scene is the present time of the main series. This means that all this time, Yuta has been taking overseas missions and Goji needs him to be back in Japan.
