Why is Boruto Episode 231 Delayed? Reason Revealed


Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 231 did not air last Sunday, on its regular release time, and it has been delayed for another week before it resumes on a weekly basis. The reason for it is finally revealed and it is a common practice in Japan to have anime series to take such a short hiatus.

The most recent release of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Episode 231, was missing during its regular Sunday release last January 2 and many have been wondering why it did not air on the said date. All year long, it has taken various breaks in between episodes but this time, the reason for the delay is one which is a usual habit in the anime industry: it is the New Year’s weekend in Japan.

This is not new to anime shows. Many titles have been postponed or delayed during this time of the year to give way to the celebration of the new year that has just arrived. Among the shows that took a break are One Piece and 86 Eighty-Six.

In the previous release of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Kawaki is on a mission to eliminate the Shinobi who has been given orders to kill boys from the Land of Calm Seas. Team 7 is on their way to give assistance to Team 10 to solve the murder mystery happening in the forest. Recently, the story follows the growth of Kawaki as he learns his way in becoming a ninja himself.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 231, titled Rusted Sword, will be released on January 9, 2022 at 5:30 PM JST/ 2:00 AM PT/ 4:00 AM CT/ 5:00 AM EST/ 10:00 AM BST for those who availed of $9.99 a month, or $79.99 a year for Crunchyroll and $5.99 per month or $59.99 a year for Funimation. The episode will be having its free release on January 16, 2021.
