JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind is set in the year 2001. After 10 years, it was followed by Stone Ocean in 2011. It is very possible that Giorno and Jolyne could have shared the same screen, but they didn’t. So, people have been asking, why didn’t Giorno appear in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean? Here’s why.

Who Is Giorno Giovanna?

Giorno Giovanna is the main protagonist of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, the fifth JoJo in the series.

Giorno has intentions of joining a powerful gang called "Passione" and speaks of his dream to become a "gang star."

He is Dio’s illegitimate son, conceived using Jonathan Joestar’s stolen body. His stand, Golden Experience, has the power to give and manipulate life.

Along with the members of Passione, they set out on a mission to escort the gang leader’s daughter, but the mission is not what they think it is.

In the end, Giorno’s stand, Golden Experience, evolves into Golden Experience Requiem, boosting its powers and gaining the ability to put someone killed by the stand into a death loop for all eternity.

With this, he was able to defeat Diavolo, and Giorno finally became the mafia boss.

Aside from Giorno, Dio had three more illegitimate sons, namely Ungalo, Rikiel, and Donatello Versus. All three of them are drawn to Pucci due to his spiritual gravity.

Pucci met all three in Florida and convinced them to do his bidding. However, Giorno, being Dio’s son, wasn’t present at that time.

Some fans theorize that Giorno was already in Florida, but he didn’t encounter Pucci because of his strong spirit and his Golden Experience Requiem stand.

Another theory (which is more likely) states that Giorno is more of a Joestar than a Brando. Being more of a Joestar helped him resist Pucci’s spiritual gravity.

In this case, while the events of Stone Ocean are happening, Giorno would still be in Naples, Italy, leading Passione along with Mista, Trish, and Polnareff.

Giorno would have been a very useful character if he ever appeared in Stone Ocean.

Back in Golden Wind, even though he was the main protagonist, he acted and provided support for his fellow gang members, usually by creating body parts and clearing injuries by giving life to inanimate objects through his stand.

Jolyne's ally, Foo Fighters, has a similar ability in which it uses its own flesh to treat the wounds of its allies.

However, Foo Fighters was killed by Pucci earlier in the series, leaving it out of the final battle.

If Giorno was present, he could’ve healed Jolyne when she was struck by a fatal blow by C-moon.

Pucci may have even been defeated earlier before his stand fully evolved.

The combined might of the three Joestars; Jolyne, Jotaro, and Giorno, would've been very powerful, and no villain might've been able to defeat them.

If Giorno had appeared in Stone Ocean, time might not have been sped up, and the universe might not have been reset.
