Marvel Television chief Brad Winderbaum recently explained why Daredevil: Born Again is ending after the upcoming third season.
Last month, we learned the surprising news that the hit MCU series is officially concluding with its third season, which will air early next year. Fans have been wondering why Marvel made the decision and whether they have plans to explore more of Daredevil in future MCU projects.
Why Marvel Decided to End Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 After Season 3

In an interview on The Brandon Davis Show podcast, Brad Winderbaum was asked about Marvel's decision to conclude the run of Daredevil: Born Again after the upcoming third season.
He explained that it has always been a plan for the series to only run for three seasons, similar to the Netflix version.
"The plan was always to culminate at 3, because the way we’re looking at it, the original series is 3 seasons, Born Again is 3 seasons. They’re kind of like trade paperbacks or collections that you can slot into your shelves; like these are two 3-volume sets, and then we will take a breath and figure out what’s next for the character," the Marvel Television chief said.
While the series will end in the third season, Winderbaum teased the exciting ideas that they have in its final chapter, which includes the reunion of the Defenders.
He added, "[Charlie Cox] doesn’t stop. He is a machine, and the performances in Season 3 are so remarkable. I think Dario [Scardapane] hit the story from some interesting angles. We’re taking a lot of influence from The Devil in Cell-Block D. Plus, we got Bullseye in it and a few other characters I can’t talk about. Of course, the Defenders."
So far, there are no details yet on whether Daredevil will appear in more MCU projects after Born Again.
What to Expect in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3

So far, the plot details regarding the third season of Daredevil: Born Again are still under wraps, but it is expected to address the second season finale, where Matt Murdock was sent to prison while Kingpin was exiled. The Defenders is expected to have a major role.
The main cast includes Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Wilson Bethel, Deborah Ann Woll, Margarita Levieva, Arty Froushan, Zabryna Guevara, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones. Elodie Yung is confirmed to return as Elektra.
Just like the second season, it will consist of eight episodes. No release date has been set yet, but it will likely arrive on Disney+ in March 2027.
