It has taken quite a while, but the Haikyuu!! anime is finally coming back with an upcoming movie. Because of the film’s title, the biggest question ahead of the movie’s release is: "who wins the Battle of the Garbage Dump in Haikyuu?"
This first part of the Haikyuu!! Final two-part movie series is an exciting one as it will finally show the fated battle between two rival teams in animated form.
Best of all, fans will be able to enjoy the fight on the big screen. This is fitting given how huge this match is in the manga.

The Trash Can Showdown: A Fated Match Between Two Teams
Haikyuu!! is a popular volleyball manga that was serialized between 2012 and 2020 in Weekly Shonen Jump. It then got an anime adaptation by Production I.G which ran for four seasons.
The anime’s fourth season ended in December 2020, and it is only this year that a new anime project is coming. With the upcoming two-part film, the anime’s story is set to conclude.
Officially titled Haikyuu!! the Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump, this film will finally see Karasuno High face off against Nekoma High.
As major rivals, the match has a lot of stakes behind it. Despite not being the final match of the manga, it’s no doubt one of the fan-favorite games in the series.
What makes it an exciting one is that Karasuno has never taken a set against Nekoma heading into this match. That did little to stop Karasuno though, as the players still charged head-on.

Who Wins the Haikyuu Battle of the Garbage Dump Match?
After going down to the wire, Karasuno High managed to emerge victorious in the last set.
The match featured lots of exciting moments led by Shoyo Hinata, but the pivotal point in the last set was when the ball slipped from Kenma Kozume’s hands in the last set.
After this, the game concluded with Karasuno taking the last set to progress through the Nationals, where they must face off against Kamomedai High.
Even for those who already know which team is going to win, the match is still an exciting one to read in the manga. Thus, the upcoming film will no doubt be a must-see for series fans.
The first part of the Haikyuu!! Final movie series will be released in Japan on February 16, 2024.
