Movies Like Virgin Territory and Where to Stream Them
If you enjoyed Virgin Territory and want similar films mixing romance, comedy, and period charm, here are five titles and where you can find them online:
- The Abduction Club (2002): Similar to Virgin Territory (2007), this film features romantic misadventures in a historical setting, with a key focus on courtship, forced marriage, and escaping social constraints through wit and romance. Purchase The Abduction Club via Apple TV.
- Miss Conception (2008): Georgina only has one goal, and that is to conceive one month before menopause. Miss Conception sets Georgina on a frantic search for the “perfect” sperm donor after her boyfriend rejects the idea of parenthood. Watch Miss Conception for free on Kanopy or Hoopla.
- Penelope (2008): Penelope puts a gender spin on the modern fantasy romance of Beauty and the Beast. Penelope Wilhern, who was born with the snout of a pig due to a family curse, must find love with “one who will accept her as one of their own.” While it’s not raunchy, it’s held in the same regard if you’re looking for misconceptions, like when Lorenzo mistook Pampinea for a nun. - The Prince & Me (2004): If it’s the fish-out-of-water romance and the romantic drama you yearned for in Virgin Territory, then The Prince & Me might be right up your alley.
