After the success of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the adventure through Middle-earth continues with The Hobbit film series.

Also composed of three movies, An Unexpected Journey, The Desolation of Smaug, and The Battle of the Five Armies, the trilogy offers a deeper connection to the mythic universe J.R.R. Tolkien created.

Fortunately, the series is widely available online through several streaming platforms, making it easy for both longtime fans and new viewers to experience its rich storytelling, spectacular visuals, and masterful filmmaking. But if it’s not available in your country, you can still enjoy its greatness by using a VPN service like ExpressVPN or VeePN.

The world of Middle-earth continues to expand beyond The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. In fact, fans will once again see the return of Gollum in the upcoming movie, The Hunt for Gollum.

Directed by Andy Serkis, the highly anticipated film will revisit the story of the Stoor, with Peter Jackson — director of TLOTR and The Hobbit — and his co-writers Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens producing the movie.

The story is set after Bilbo leaves the One Ring, but before Frodo’s journey begins, during the time Aragorn and Gandalf are searching for Gollum. Details beyond this remain scarce, though we do know it's expected to make its theatrical debut on December 17, 2027.

Meanwhile, another untitled live-action Middle-earth movie is in the works, with Jackson, Walsh, and Boyens involved in its production. Further details are even more scarce with this one.

And of course, the story of Sauron continues in The Rings of Power Season 3, which premieres on Prime Video on November 11, 2026. Make sure you catch up on the first two seasons before the third series arrives!
