Tom Cruise is not done just yet. Whether you're looking to revisit or watch the deadly espionage plots in Mission: Impossible, this spy series is definitely worth a watch in your lifetime.
Here’s everything you need to know about where to watch all the Mission: Impossible movies, including expected streaming platforms and how VPN services like ExpressVPN and VeePN can help if the movie isn’t available in your region.
What is Mission Impossible About?
The Mission: Impossible franchise follows IMF agent Ethan Hunt (played by Tom Cruise) and his team taking on the most impossible missions (hence, the title).
Often, this involves rogue agents, global threats (superviruses, rogue AIs), and complex heists, all for the sake of clearing the IMF's name to confront traitorous IMF agents. But there's much more to the film series than that...
Where to Watch All the Mission: Impossible Movies
The film franchise debuted in 1996 and has continued since, consisting of a total of 7 films (8, if we count the two parts of the Reckoning as separate entries).
Here is where fans can watch them online, and a little refresher of the journey Ethan went through:
Mission: Impossible (1996)
Ethan Hunt is framed for the murder of his team when their mission in Prague gets botched in the process. The first Mission: Impossible film sees Tom Cruise going rogue in his attempt to hunt down the real mole and discover what true betrayal feels like in the CIA.
Mission: Impossible II (2000)

From a fellow traitor spy to a Chimera, Mission: Impossible II raised the stakes by having Ethan Hunt tasked to retrieve and destroy the deadly, genetically engineered virus stolen by rogue IMF agent Sean Ambrose.
Mission: Impossible III (2006)
The third Mission: Impossible movie sees the retired IMF agent Hunt forced back into action to stop Owen Davian (played by Philip Seymour Hoffman), a ruthless arms dealer threatening his fiancée, Julia (Michelle Monaghan).
Hunt's mission is to retrieve the mysterious "Rabbit's Foot" weapon across Berlin, Vatican City, and Shanghai to save a kidnapped trainee and rescue Julia from her vengeful fiancé.
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011)
Ghost Protocol recycles one of the best plots in the first film: Hunt and his team are framed for supposedly bombing the Kremlin, which forces the US to initiate "Ghost Protocol" to disassemble the IMF. The team chases the terrorist who started it all — the man who wants to start a nuclear war between the US and Russia.
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015)
Ethan Hunt and his IMF team hunt the "Syndicate", a shadowy, highly skilled rogue organization of spies who aim to destabilize the world through terrorism. Despite the IMF's disbandment and Hunt's new fugitive label, they work with mysterious British agent Ilsa Faust to expose the shady organization and its leader, Solomon Lane.
Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018)
In Mission: Impossible - Fallout, Hunt and his IMF team race against time to recover three stolen plutonium cores after a mission failure. Arms dealer John Lark and a group of terrorists known as the Apostles plan to utilize the stolen artifacts to start a nuclear attack on the Vatican, Jerusalem, and Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023)

The first part of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning follows Hunt and his IMF team on their mission to find a "cruciform key" which can control or destroy a rogue Artificial Intelligence called "The Entity", considering its existence could infiltrate global systems and threaten humanity.
Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (2025)
The last of the Mission: Impossible movies, The Final Reckoning, continues their ongoing war against The Entity, after its successful infiltration of global intelligence networks. Now, Hunt and the global government must prevent the Entity from irrevocably altering the world order, pushing themselves to their absolute limits.

Will There Be Another Mission: Impossible Movie in the Future?
Now that Paramount is in the hands of CEO David Ellison, there's a chance that Mission: Impossible 9 or Top Gun 3 will become top priorities at the company, considering that the CEO has been doubling down on franchises.
While The Final Reckoning was advertised to be the last in the franchise and concluded the greatest enemy, The Entity, Tom Cruise's character, Ethan Hunt, survived the disaster and refused to retire, which could lead to a ninth installment.
As of writing, there is no official confirmation of Mission: Impossible 9 or any future installments.
However, writer-director Christopher McQuarrie did state in 2023 (via Entertainment Weekly), "There's always a plan, the plan always changes... everything always turns out alright in the end."
Keep in mind that Luther's last message to Hunt in The Final Reckoning was, "The world still needs you," implying potential future possibilities for the franchise.
