You Were Experienced, I Was Not: An Intriguing Romance Anime in Fall 23
As the title implies, You Were Experienced, I Was Not tells the romantic story of a “gyaru” named Runa Shirakawa and an awkward, introverted teen named Ryuuto Kashima.
When Ryuuto loses a game and gets dared to ask Runa out, she unexpectedly agrees.
They soon come to discover that they are different in just about every way, from their friends and hobbies to their love lives.
As they get to know each other more, they begin to accept their differences and learn what true love means.
While Runa may have had previous relationships, their journey is bound to be filled with new and unique experiences for both of them!
You Were Experienced is based on the light novel series written by Makiko Nagaoka and illustrated by magako.

Where to Read the You Were Experienced, I Was Not Light Novel
You Were Experienced, I Was Not: Our Dating Story is the official name of the anime’s light novel source material.
The series debuted in September 2020 as part of Fujimi Shobo's Fujimi Fantasia Bunko label.
The light novel has so far published seven volumes, with the seventh volume being released on September 20, 2023.
What's more, J-Novel Club licensed and released the English version of Parts 1 and 2 of the light novel's first volume.
This means you can read the You Were Experienced, I Was Not light novel on J-Novel Club’s official website.
But that’s not all! For fans who prefer to read manga, You Were Experienced also has a manga version that’s available online.

The light novel series seems to be successful enough that it received a manga adaptation in less than two years after its debut!
In February 2022, a manga adaptation by Noyama Carpaccio began serialization in Square Enix's Gangan Online web platform. The manga has released three tankobon volumes as of April 2023.
There’s even more good news! In June 2023, Square Enix started publishing the You Were Experienced manga in English on their Manga UP! Global service.
The first chapter is available to read for free on Manga UP! But you can access all 15 chapters exclusively on the app.
