WcDonald’s seems to have made the jump to real life as anime fans have spotted them in the wild. Because of this, many are now wondering what is going on with the WcDonald's cup and how they can get one.
Yes, these cups are real, and they’re part of a new collaboration by the fast-food giant McDonald’s. As this new collab is centered around anime, it’s no surprise that the crossover is called WcDonald’s.
What Is WcDonald’s? An Anime Staple
The name WcDonald’s should be familiar to many anime fans. After all, this fast-food chain has appeared in lots of anime over the decades, starting from the 80s classic Cat’s Eye.
Essentially, WcDonald’s is an anime version of McDonald’s that’s made to get around copyright restrictions. Of course, not all shows use this version, with variants like MgRonald’s in The Devil is a Part-Timer!
It’s fair to say that WcDonald’s is the most popular of the variants. After all, it has appeared in popular anime like InuYasha, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Otaku Elf.
Given its popularity in the fictional world, it’s no surprise that McDonald’s has taken this brand to the real world, complete with a cup that looks straight out of anime.

Fans Show off Real-Life WcDonald’s Cups
Over the past day or so, anime fans have begun sharing real-life WcDonald’s drinks cups that they got from McDonald’s restaurants in the US.
While others were unsure if this was real, these cups are part of a new anime collab by McDonald’s in partnership with Pierrot, the studio behind hit shows like Bleach and Naruto.
The collab will feature four anime shorts by Pierrot, as well as manga chapters. These will be released weekly beginning on February 26.
Perhaps the highlight of the collab is the special WcDonald’s meal, which will feature a brand-new sauce. Each order of the meal will also come with special packaging, including the WcDonald's cup.
Where to Get the WcDonald’s Cup in the US
The WcDonald's cup is expected to be available beginning February 26, 2024. That’s because the 26th is the official start date of the collab.
As for where it will be available in the US, there’s no official list of stores from McDonald’s yet. Chances are that the meal and the cups will be available in most McDonald’s restaurants in the country.
Along with the US, the meal will also be released in over 30 global markets.
