Whether it's to bring hype and nostalgia back to one of the biggest movie franchises of all time or a deep dive into the magic behind the set, the Harry Potter reboot is one step ahead of fans!

Now, 15 years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, HBO will be releasing the first season of its reboot series on Christmas 2026, with the debut set in the events of the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

But before fans turn back in time for the reboot, HBO released the first trailer for Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic, a special episode that shows behind-the-scenes making of the series.

The special is officially set to premiere this Sunday, April 5, 2026, at 3 PM ET / 12 PM PT on HBO and will be available for streaming on Max. For UK fans, the documentary drops at 8 PM.

What Else Fans Can Expect From the Upcoming Reboot's Special

Narrated by Nick Frost, who plays Hagrid in the Harry Potter reboot series, the special episode, Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic, will unveil the magic of robotic owls, familiar stores and shops from Diagon Alley, and most importantly, various interviews from set designers to actors like John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore), Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall), and Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape).

Apart from chemistry among the new cast, the special will likely take a deeper dive into the chemistry test between our new trio, Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger), and Alastair Stout (Ronald Weasley) as they are brought together on set for the first time.

The special also emphasizes the reboot's commitment to a "book-faithful" adaptation, with the trailer hinting at subplots and characters from J.K. Rowling's original novel series that were previously cut from the 2001 movie.
