When Can Star Wars Fans Expect The First Full Trailer For The Rise Of Skywalker?

It's been quite a while since Lucasfilm dropped the very first teaser for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's very first teaser, and now fans are eagerly waiting to know when the first full trailer of the film might finally find its way online.

A short two-minute teaser might have helped quell the anticipation building up over Lucasfilm's third and final sequel trilogy entry, but it's been about two months since Lucasfilm released the short video for The Rise of Skywalker. Fans want to know more about what Episode IX has to offer the Star Wars franchise and a full preview would certainly help do the trick.

The only question now is when exactly is the trailer going to be released?

There's been a lot of talk over when fans can expect the full trailer for The Rise of Skywalker. Lucasfilm is heading to this year's San Diego Comic-Con International this July with a special panel for Episode IX, so it's possible that the studio might release new footage there. If not the trailer, then a behind-the-scenes reel maybe.

Lucasfilm could also release the trailer during Disney's 2019 D23. The expo which is set to run from August 20 to August 25 will feature many of the new projects from the Mickey Mouse House's properties, one of which includes the Star Wars franchise.

Of course, Lucasfilm could withhold the trailer and release the video on its own sometime before The Rise of Skywalker's official release. If the studio were to follow its marketing pattern for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, then it's very likely that we'll be getting the first full trailer for Episode IX sometime in October.

Let's cross our fingers and wait and see.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres on December 20, 2019.
