The third season of the MCU animated series What If...? is currently underway following the airing of the second season during the recent holiday season and received a solid reception for its new batch of episodes.

So far, most of the information surrounding the next batch of multiversal stories is being kept under wraps, but we know from the recent sneak peeks that were released that they will finally integrate the Phase Four heroes.

Characters such as Sam Wilson, Monica Rambeau, Bucky Barnes, and Red Guardian are all confirmed to have their own episodes in the new season.

Now, it looks like an upcoming episode will also focus on an MCU team that was introduced in Phase Four.

Insider CanWeGetSomeToast (via ComicBookMovie.com) reported that the Eternals will be featured in an episode of the upcoming third season of What If...?

The MCU team's episode is reportedly titled "What If... The Eternals Never Stopped The Emergence?" So far, Marvel Studios has not commented on the report.

It is also unknown yet if any of the cast members in the 2021 film such as Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie, and the others will also reprise their respective roles in the episode.

If the report is true, it looks like the show will tackle a massive story in one of the episodes since it would essentially mean that the Earth will be destroyed and the Eternals are doing their true purpose without any change of heart.

There is a possibility that the other heroes in the MCU, especially the cosmic-powered characters, will try to intervene and fight the Eternals to prevent the Emergence from happening.

It is interesting to see how it will all play out within the 30-minute runtime since the story is such a massive undertaking for the series to do considering the scope and stakes that it will entail as well as the limitations within the format.

Marvel Studios has not set a release window yet for the third season of What If...?
