Westworld 3 Featured a Cameo from Drogon and the Game of Thrones’ Showrunners

With Game of Thrones ending, HBO is in need of a new flagship show, and some consider it to be Westworld. What's interesting is, GoT showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss actually have cameos in the latest episode, and there's also an appearance from the show's last dragon standing, Drogon.

Watch them here:

Benioff and Weiss play the two tech guys who are supposedly going to dismantle the dragon because they have a buyer from a ‘startup in Costa Rica.' While I can't think of a relevance that Costa Rica has to Thrones as a show, some think that this could be a nod to the fictional island of Isla Nublar from Jurassic Park which is also located near Costa Rica. That's two franchises being alluded to in barely a minute.

Admittedly, Westworld had lost some viewership thanks to the past season, but things are looking to be revamped with Season 3. Now the world has expanded into the world of the humans, and we're also getting expansions of several other parks, like Warworld. What are the odds we're going to go back to a technological Westeros with hosts that look like Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen?

For now, we're strapped in for the story of the third season. We don't know where it's necessarily taking us, but hopefully showrunners Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan will be able to end it properly, unlike what happened with the Game of Thrones finale.

Catch the next episode of Westworld when it comes out on HBO on Sunday night.
